slide 4 slide 3 BioMark Carr aka " Flagz Da Bad Boy " was born in wilmington NC as the only son and male in his family's youngest generation at the time.Being the only child in his household allowed him to experience unconditional love and to witness how a Godly family should function.However at just age 11 his mother died from complications following the birth of his baby brother. It was then Mark got a whole new view on a harsh reality. It turned out that his mothers death was a result of a careless mistake on the hospitals behalf , so a pretty large lawsuit began immediately and financial compensation was awarded to him and his family. Needless to say his whole family whom he thought loved him, turned their backs on him when he needed them the most. Almost none of the almost thirty members of his family ever came to so much as check up on mark after his mothers death because the money didnt fall the way they wanted it to causing serious arguments and unforgiving grudges.It was at that point mark lost faith in the God his family called on in emergencies. ( They all went to church but did not live according to God. ) To make matters worse he learned that you couldn't trust any man any further than you could throw them.At age 16 Mark had managed to get a job a Checkers fast food restaurant where he worked for 5.15 an hour taking the bus back and forth to work. With no help, although his stepfather owned a car and was retired, he often walked close to three miles a day when his check was spent on bus fare and food. Realizing that he wasnt getting much help taking care of himself other than four walls and a bed, Mark ran away, and went to live with his cousin in an abandoned shack owned by his grandfather. It was a little rough with broken windows, no electricity and no running water but it was freedom from a home where your guardian is never home , barely in town without your knowledge, and leaves no way to contact him. It was then at the maturing age , Mark began looking for the reason ,we as life, were created in the first place and who or what created us? At first he thought that regardless of what created us that maybe the Goal in life was to be happy until you died, so he began searching for a woman he might one day make his wife and start a family with, ( while trying to make money of course). Living with an older female cousin, who had many sexy and trifflin' female friends, made it easy for mark ,who was always a bit mature for his age , to date older women and learn what it took to gain the hearts ( and panties ) of women from all walks of life. While in high school on his eighteenth birthday mark was given enough money to buy a house built from the ground up and a brand new suv so thats what he did! while still in high school. He then combined his money with the charm he learned from his Lady friends to become a high school celebrity and very successful playa.It was at this moment while in a weight lifting class Mark realized that not even being rich and popular could satisfy his need for a purpose in a purposeless life. at the thought of this mark was depressed and decided not to work out on this day and sat on the steps alone contemplating life. While he sat there a young woman came to talk to him about his situation and attempted to cheer him up. They realized they had a lot in common and became good friends, eventually the young lady introduced him to her cousin who would one day be his wife. Although this story may seem somewhat ordinary , It turns out that these two girls where " church girls " and were singing in their own quartet group. While dating the young ladies' cousin, " Shanel " , Mark was still dating other hot girls and running the streets. Engaging in everything from strip clubs to drugs and even run ins with the cops. Although Mark was more into sex than breaking the law. It was one Friday night when mark was at the home of one of his many lady friends that he was introduced to weed aka marijuana, not getting much of a buzz after the first bag he and his instructor continued to smoke way beyond the limits of a first time weed smoker. The first time he got high was the first time he realized that he could actually loose control of his own mind and therefore could loose his life at any moment at the hands of anyone or anything and no one could stop it until it was too late. after that day mark began to have symptoms of high anxiety, which made his brain reproduce the feelings he experienced when he was high, in other words he felt like he was always high without smoking. when he did come down, he was immediately depressed and afraid, especially now that he was living alone in a huge empty home with no roommates and no real friends or family. But he continued to date and spend money like water on impressing the ladies. One day he began to get so physically sick that he could no longer hold down food and couldn't leave the house, intact the only one who came to see about him was his latest relationship " Shanel " who set at his bedside and PRAYED for him while attending to his needs, at the sight of this he knew he was going to marry her.The next week Shanel invited him to see her sing with her quartet group at a church in South Carolina. Feeling his worst and certain that his life was running short due to an illness his doctors couldn't understand, he agreed. Now mark had a brand new Grand Cherokee with hydraulics , Chrome rims a system that spoke for itself, so he refused to ride in a rented van full of " holy rollies" but was talked into it by his girlfriend. Immediately he felt uncomfortable being the only none believer on the van, and the fact that a strange woman kept staring at him and smiling wasnt helping! She then out of the blue asked him if he wanted to be her son. He asked his girlfriend if she had told this woman that his mother had died and Shanel said no she hadnt told anyone. Thinking that it might be a joke mark played along not knowing that God himself had instructed the strange woman to be his spiritual mother once he became a believer. Once they arrived at the church and he witnessed his girlfriend and her quartet group sing. mark was amazed at the innocence and belief he saw in each member of the group. He then thought that maybe church was an elaborate fairy tale designed to give hope to a species who had no real explanation as to why they were created. but before he could think any more on the topic, he realized that the strange woman who wanted to adopt him was also in the group and had now stopped the program in the middle of a song and was calling him up to the front of the church! his first thought was no, because he was certain she would expect him to act like a fool and pretend like he felt the presence of God. Realizing that if he didnt go up there he might look like a punk or even worse - she might come get him, he went up to the pool pit. Were he met God himself in a vision while he was virtually passed out in a pew. He was told in the spirit that God was always God and knew about everything he was going through and had been through. He also showed him the things in his future from his marriage to Shanel to his record label " dFLY " both of which have come to pass just as promised. He also told him that his mother was safe and simply in another place, and that all he wanted him to do was to tell the world about him and his existence using the ministry he gave him. When he awoke he was hugging the strange woman who he now knew was a real prophetess and with tears in her eyes she asked him if he wanted to be healed, naturally knowing that there is a God he said yes and was supernaturally healed of all his sickness right there in the church by the mighty name of JESUS!Mark continues to hear from God to this day and is still telling the world about his testimony. With the help of an ear for hip -hop, and divine ideas from the father, " Flagz " which stands for ( For the Love And Grace of Zion ), is able to create music with beats so hot they could stand up to the secular music giants and be respected even by none believers. Due to the fact that " flagz " was first in love with worldly hip - hop legends such as " DMX " " Craig Mack " " Jadakiss " etc. He delivers the truth of God without chasing away people who dont yet know or understand heavenly topics. but dont worry his lyrics are anything but luke warm if anything they're " flamin' Hot ! " And if it seems like the entire album is too good to be true that may be because " Flagz " himself WROTE , COMPOSED, PERFORMED, RECORDED, MIXED, EDITED and MASTERED the entire album HIS SELF!! in his own studio under HIS OWN RECORD LABEL. Therefore if there is something God wants him to say, it gets said just the way God instructed him to say it without fear of what is politically correct or accepted. This album covers topics as fragile as homosexuality and false prophets. Page 6 Bio Flagz da bad boy is no stranger to the stage or to the ministry. From his 1st show in fayetteville NC in front of 100 screaming teenagers ( which resulted in one fans earing being torn out of her ear in a tussle for his 1st demo), to his latest performance at The Opryland resort in Tenesee. In 2002 while attending a concert for "Mary Mary", when the group didnt show, he was asked to headline and rocked it accordingly.In 2003 he hit the books spiritually and musically, reading the entire bible for the 1st time and mastering the art of engineering and music mastering. In 2004 he was a panel judge for The 3rd Annual Cape Fear Gospel Music & Soul Food festival in Wilmington NC, where he opened up for Gospel headliner (at the time) "Tonex".In 2005 he completed his 1st completed project self entitled "Flagz". Which after making a trip to Atlanta (and sneaking into major secular labels pitching his album failed) he left a Cd on the windshield of a promotional van and caught the attention of "DJ kutta" who was doing promotions for "Usher" at the time. He was invited back to ATL to audition to be an opening act but failed to get the proper contact info and missed out. In 2006 he released his 1st "label ready" album "Gimmie A Pen". In 2007 he completed the follow up album "Freedom" which in late 2008 caught the attention of christian publishing company "Tate Music Group" landing him his 1st national distribution deal. In 2009 he was scheduled to perform with "The Lyrical Miracle"in rocky mount for a holy hip hop seminar and showcase. When The Lyrical Miracle couldnt make it , he trusted Flagz with the whole event.Through this Flagz introduced holy hip hop to a town that had never experienced it. In august 2009 Flagz was one of 13 artist chosen worldwide to win as a semifinalist position with The Embassy Music Ultimate Talent contest. In September 2009 he performed in front of Gotee Records producer kene "Ghost" Bell as well as represenatives from EMI and Atlantic at the Opryland Resort in Nashville TN. Flagz da bad boy is just getting started on the road to the destiny God promised him 11 years ago. Though these accomplishments are a great start for any artist, one things for certain...You can expect to hear alot more from this brand new style and vessel they call "Flagz da bad boy!"
